Big Mountain är ett område i Navajoindianernas reservat i Arizona, USA.

Detta område är heligt för Dineh och Hopis, men inte för de amerikanska myndigheterna.

Efter omfattande fynd av kol och uran har myndigheterna och diverse företag tvingat över 22 000 indianer lämna sina hem.

Eftersom marken är helig för dessa människor, vägrar de att lämna den till sitt öde hos giriga myndigheter och företag. Detta har resulterat i oändliga arresteringar och massiva tvångsförflyttningar.

De som fortfarande motsätter sig och står kvar vid sitt hem, möter många svårigheter.

Since this land is sacred to these peole, they refuse to leave it for it´s destiny in the hands of greedy governments and coperations.

This is resluting in neverending arrestments, harrasments and huge forced relocations.

OBS! Big Mountain heter egentligen Great Mountain om man översätter från Dinetha. Anledningen till att det idag kallas för Big Mountain är ett översättningsfel som de amerikanska myndigheterna gjorde när de skulle översätta namnet från Dinetah till engelska.

OBS! Big Mountain is actually named Great Mountain if you are translating the name from Dinetah. The reason why its name today is Big Moutain is because of a mistranslation the US government  did in the translation from Dinetah to english.
